Gary Colberg named 2012-13 Campaign Chair

The Board of Directors of the United Way of Coastal Georgia (UWCGA) is excited to announce that Southeast Georgia Health System’s President and CEO Gary R. Colberg will serve as 2012-13 Campaign Cabinet Chair. Colberg’s role will include encouraging local individuals, professionals, and businesses to invest to their community through United Way and advance the common good by focusing on those agencies who deliver quality programs focused on education, income, and health -- the building blocks for a good quality of life.
For 2012-13, 34 volunteers on UWCGA’s Community Investment Committee directed partial funding to 30 llocal programs sponsored by 25 human service agencies in the Glynn & McIntosh counties. Strong accountability is provided through United Way's funded program oversight.
“We are extremely grateful and excited that Gary Colberg is serving as our campaign chairman this year,” said Missy Neu, President and CEO of United Way of Coastal Georgia. “Gary is a passionate, determined leader and supporter of United Way who is truly dedicated to his role as campaign chairman. He has already been effective as we look at new and creative ways to improve our campaign and build awareness about United Way.
“He and the Southeast Georgia Health System have had a strong relationship with the United Way, and I know he will do an excellent job in this leadership role as we seek donor investments that will change people’s lives in Glynn & McIntosh counties. We are looking forward to another successful United Way campaign with Gary Colberg as our chair.”
“Gary’s executive business experience will serve us well as we reach out to individuals and companies who want to make a positive impact in our community,” says Beth Lemke, Marketing Officer for Atlantic National Bank. Lemke served as United Way's 2011-12 Campaign Chair before accepting the reigns as 2012 Board Chair. “Gary's record of service, expertise, and dedication to bettering his community will result in a positive impact on the 2012 -13 campaign.”
The United Way of Coastal Georgia’s campaign begins Aug. 23rd at the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours, followed by a Campaign Kick-off Breakfast on August 30th at the Southeast Georgia Health System on Parkwood Avenue in Brunswick.
