Since 1956, our local United Way has been in the business of
creating meaningful and tangible impact. It is not how many individuals we
provide for and serve. It is not how many programs or partners we unite. Bottom
line results, the lives we change, and the communities we shape, that’s what
matters. That’s what it means to LIVE
UNITED.
United Way of Coastal Georgia brings diverse people and
resources together to address the most urgent issues our communities face.
Through unique partnerships and approaches, we mobilize resources beyond
dollars. Our partners include schools, youth, families, government policy
makers, businesses, organized labor, financial institutions, voluntary and
neighborhood associations, civic groups, community development corporations and
the faith community.
The growth of non-profits, changes in the workplace, the
global economy, and many other factors have led United Ways from defining fund
raising as their primary business to consider ring it one of many tools
necessary to pursue what is most crucial – achieving
sustained community change.
We are committed to mobilizing local leaders and the
communities we serve to meet identified needs and to invest dollars
strategically. We link funding to measurable, improved results. We believe that
there are basic things we all need for a good life: a quality education that
leads to a stable job, income that support a family through retirement, and
good health. We are investing in the building blocks of a good life:
Education, Income,
and Health.
Our strategies include identifying and building on community
strengths and assets, funding high impact services, advocating for public
policy change, and collaborating with others in support of these and related
issues of our community.
